Death Notice by Todd Ritter

From our good friend Rebecca Chastain at Number One Novels:

This week, Number One Novels interviews debut author Todd Ritter about his novel, Death Notice, a character-driven mystery/thriller that’s “fast-paced, suspenseful and creepy, with just the right amount of gore.” One novel is up for grabs, with the contest ending Sunday, December 5.

That sounds like my kinda book! Sound like yours??? Come on by and see if you can win it instead of me.

Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler

Our favorite Book Butterfly (really, there’s only one, so of course she’s our favorite by default. But that doesn’t mean she’s not one of our favorite people around here!) is up to her tricks again. Lucky for us, she has awesome tricks, full of bookish goodness designed to bring YOU closer to some awesome reads — and the authors who pen them.

Can we still say authors pen books, in this age of word processors?

Anyway, it’s author Sarah Ockler who’s stopped in for Ten Tantalizing Questions about her new book, Fixing Delilah. As always, the questions are great and the answers enlightening. Stop in and check them out.

And then, since there’s always an And Then with The Book Butterfly, you good people in the US can enter to win a signed copy of Fixing Delilah. Enter by December 15.

Taking the Reins by Alison Hart

It happens to all of us from time to time. We wind up with an extra copy of a book and so we do what comes naturally: give it away.

Such is the situation over at Booking Mama’s, where Julie has an extra copy of the American Girl book, Taking the Reins. This isn’t one of the usual character books built around the dolls. Nope. This is an interactive book, with more than 20 endings a reader can choose. Not quite choose your own adventure — anyone else remember those?

Stop in at Booking Mama and read about it. Then enter to win (if you’re in the US or Canada) by December 5.

Our friend Adam Callaway is back! And he’s looking for followers, so he’s throwing a contest. All you gotta do is follow his blog, Sensawunda, and you can enter yourself for a copy of Ted Chiang’s book, The Lifecycle of Software Objects.

This is a novella, with only 30,000 words. But they sound like words well chosen!
