Anyway, Vera’s giving away 2 copies until 3/19.

S is for Shamrock

Now, isn’t that the perfect-sounding book for a March giveaway?!?

This one’s timed for St. Patrick’s Day at She Is Too Fond Of Books.

It’s one of those great illustrated alphabet books from Sleeping Bear Press. This is S is for Shamrock by Eve Bunting, and it gives bits of Irish history and culture; a short verse for younger readers, with more explanation in the sidebars for those who want more.

Here’s the link to the giveaway.

The Secret of the Glass

Marie Burton of the Burton Review and her Historical Fiction Roundtable are up to a lot of good once again. We like ‘em this way, so be sure to support what’s going on.

There are two copies of Donna Russo Morin’s newest novel, The Secret of the Glass,

You have two chances to win Donna Russo Morin’s newest historical novel, The Secret of the Glass. A paperback copy is going to go to one lucky person who comments at the Roundtable’s main site. (You can link there from The Burton Review.) A second contest is up, but that’s not for a book. Nope, it’s for a lovely glass pendant.

But there’s more! Marie’s ARC copy is up for grabs, too. So is a bookmark Marie made herself (she’s asking you to not laugh TOO openly at it. Frankly, I couldn’t laugh. Making bookmarks is, I suspect, more difficult than it looks).

There are extra entries for this second give for the ARC. However, this ARC give is only open to friends in the US. Enter by March 6.

Wherever Nina Lies

It seems no one ’s figured out Where Nina Lies yet. And yes, I’m going to continue making fun of this book title. Why not? It’s fun. And it helps the title stick in your brain, so that when you’re out at the store, you see it and think, “Hey! There it is!” and then you buy it.

See how it works?

Unless you’re like me, and you don’t go into bookstores, lest your husband chase you down with sharp objects and valid worries of floors collapsing under the weight of all these books. If that’s the case — or something like it — you’ll want to head over to Park Avenue Princess, where three copies of Lynn Weingarten’s book are up for grabs.

Here’s the cool thing: the books must be shipped from the publisher to a US address. If you’re outside the US but have someone willing to be a go-between, you can enter!

There are lots of rules, so read and follow them carefully. Enter by March 16.
