Turkey? Who said Thanksgiving’s all about the bird?
It’s about DESSERT, baby. I figure to have about three tonight, not including the gingerbread trial run for the big birthday party next weekend…
Seriously.
Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks and if you guys don’t think I’m thankful for you and your many links (even on days when it seems like there are TOO MANY links), you’re nuts.
As an author, I’m thankful that you guys support me and all my fellow authors, by being champion of books. I look at you guys and wonder where those so-called experts are coming from. Books and reading aren’t dead. No way. No how.
As a reader, I thank you for exposing me to new titles to read. My wishlist is safely over 1900 books now. You guys are responsible for a number of those.
And as a person who needs an online community as much as she needs a real-life one, I thank you for letting me into your worlds and your lives. Those of you who hang at the Meet and Greet (and if you don’t, why not?? Free fiction! Frequently!) and those of you who join the new Rocks ‘n Reads and the WOW meme… you’re awesome. Writing books is a solitary endeavor; your own online presences make me feel connected to something bigger than a little rock band and the four characters who make ‘em up.
Go on and give yourselves a hug from me. A kiss on the cheek, too, if you’re so inclined (or talented; I’d imagine the mechanics of that are pretty difficult).
