The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

Haven’t had enough Potato Peel Pie?

Dawn at She is Too Fond of Books has three paperback copies of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, written by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer.

Entry is with the answer to an easy question. Unless you’re me, but when you’re me, nothing is easy.

This is a US and Canada-only contest (sorry, gang), and entries close on September 11. It’s your job to find out if you’re a winner, too.

Guest Author: Andrew Grant

Number One Novels is back in action this week, this time with author Andrew Grant. His debut is called Even.

What a cool title. Even. Even WHAT?? Even if? Even plane of existence? Even, not odd???

Check it out. The cover alone will answer that question. Mr. Grant himself will answer more for Rebecca.

The contest to win a copy of Even is open only to the Continental US. It ends September 6, to get busy with those four chances to win.

Guest Author: Heather Gudenkauf

Beth’s Book Review Blog is hosting the Heather Gudenkauf, author of The Weight of Silence. She manages to talk about a pretty heavy subject in a way that doesn’t scare me silly. That’s not easy to do; as a parent, isn’t the loss of our children through abduction our greatest fears? Or is it just me?

Check out what Ms. Gudenkauf has to say. Be sure to read her bio; I like her even more! And her dad gets some good props, too.

Need room for all those books?

Elena at All Booked Up dropped me a note. Would I post her give even though it’s not a give for a book?

Well, let’s see. I’ve posted gives for lap buddies that hold your book while you read. I’ve posted gives for bookmarks, that hold your place in your book while you take a break. I’d gladly post gives for e-readers, but no one’s sent me any links to any contests for those.

So, really. A bookshelf’s not far off the mark.

That’s right. I’ve seen this give making the rounds, so you may be familiar with it, too. If not, head over to All Booked Up. I dare say there’s not a single reader of this here Win a Book that doesn’t need more bookshelf space.

This is only a US and Canada contest, possibly due to shipping costs and possibly due to other factors I have absolutely no knowledge of. Don’t shoot the messenger!

Guest Author: Lisa Marie Wilkinson

What timing! Author Lisa Marie Wilkinson sent me and Bridget a copy of her latest book, Fire at Midnight. I found it waiting patiently in my PO Box this morning.

(What? You guys thought I was kidding about having a PO Box?)

And now Lisa’s over at one of my favorite blogs, Unusual Historicals, talking about Men. Beau Brummel, in particular. Who? Why should we care?

Go read it and you’ll see. This is fascinating stuff. Thanks to Lisa for sharing it with us.

Oh, you should care. This is FUN stuff. And you guys know I’m all about fun (especially if you’ve read the latest fictional escapade at the Meet and Greet).

Welcome (back) Blythe

That’s the title of the post over at History Hoydens, a new-to-me site that’s hosting our newest author friend, Blythe Gifford. She’s not guest posting this time. Nope. Now she’s brave enough to answer questions! There are some GUTSY questions here, too. Wow. Nicely done, Hoydens!!

No copies of the book to win here, gang. But the knowledge you’ll get will make you rush out to your local independent bookstore and buy this book. Or be like me and stop people at the Snooty Health Club and tell them they’d like it.

Guest Author: Blythe Gifford

So when I posted something about author Blythe Gifford the other day, I left a note saying, “If we can help promote other stuff, drop us an e-mail.” And lo and behold, SHE DID.

You’ll be hearing more from us about Blythe. This is gonna be fun, boys and girls, so party along with us.

Today, Blythe has stopped by Romance: B(u)y the Book. She’s talking about her realization that even though she’s resisted writing interlinked books, she’s done it anyway. Stop by to see how and exactly what I mean.

Leave a comment, too, and you can be entered to win a copy of either of Blythe’s books, Harlot’s Daughter or In the Master’s Bed. Make sure your e-mail is readily accessible!
